You spoke up, leaders have listened and committed $14bn to the Global Fund
We’re beyond excited to announce the fantastic news that we’ve achieved a fully funded Global Fund, which helps us get back on track to end malaria within our generation!
For months, thousands of you have relentlessly fought for our voices to be heard by joining Malaria Must Die’s voice petition. Together, we demanded that leaders listened and took action to end this completely preventable and treatable disease. Today, the Global Fund hit its target of raising a record-breaking US$14 billion to help end the world’s three biggest preventable killer diseases - AIDS, Tuberculosis and malaria.
These generous commitments represent approximately 60% of the malaria funding worldwide, so we’re now one step closer to achieve our goal of halving malaria in the Commonwealth by 2030 thanks your efforts.
The UK has showed incredible leadership in the fight for global health with its early pledge announced in June. James Whiting, CEO of Malaria No More UK said that: “this game-changing investment will help save two million lives and demonstrates global Britain at its best, a compassionate and engaged partner on the world stage, tackling the most urgent global health challenges of our generation, including malaria, which still kills a child every two minutes".
This is what thousands of voices can achieve.
