Malaria No More UK Board Chair, David Reddy, welcomes new Managing Director
As Chair of the Malaria No More UK Board, I am delighted to announce Gareth Jenkins has been appointed Managing Director. Gareth has led the organisation’s advocacy and strategy for over five years, building strong partnerships across governments, businesses, and the global health community.
As a Board, we stand alongside Gareth as he takes on this new role and trust he will lead MNMUK into this next chapter – keeping malaria high on the global agenda at a time when leadership and investment in global health are more vital than ever.
Gareth succeeds Dr Astrid Bonfield, who previously served as Chief Executive of Malaria No More UK. As the Board, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Astrid for her leadership and contribution to the organisation during her tenure.
Gareth said: “It is a privilege to take on this role at such a critical time. The fight against malaria stands at a moment of both possibility and risk. Scientific breakthroughs mean ending this disease is within reach - but progress is fragile, and without sustained commitment the world could face renewed resurgence.
Malaria remains one of the world’s deadliest diseases for children, but it is also one of the most solvable. I am hugely excited for our team to play our role in the global partnership to deliver the action needed to save children’s lives and unlock the innovation and investment that can end malaria in our lifetimes.”
Malaria remains one of the world’s deadliest diseases for children. The mission for MNMUK remains clear – end malaria for good – to save millions of lives and build a more prosperous, secure world for us all.
