Rentokil Initial celebrate a decade of partnership

To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their partnership with Malaria No More UK, Rentokil Initial, whose mission is ‘protecting people, enhancing lives’, became a supporting partner of the Draw The Line Against Malaria campaign, completed their incredible global Race to Kigali  challenge, and will be undertaking a range of other activities through the year.

Taking part in the ‘Race To Kigali’ virtual fundraising challenge was 2,000 colleagues in over 100 international teams, who collectively travelled a remarkable 850,000km in this virtual race and raised an incredible £202,000.

Starting in February and ending on 25 April, the UN’s World Malaria Day, colleagues in teams are walked, ran, cycled, skied and canoed their way to 9,000km.

Colleagues took part from Australia and New Zealand to Indonesia and Singapore; from Africa and the Middle East to France and the UK; from Canada and America to Brazil and Chile, and many other countries along the way. Two teams, Turn Back Covid and GoFar, ‘reached’ Kigali in 23 days with other teams close behind – what an incredible effort!

In addition to this successful challenge, Rentokil Initial is also supporting the youth-focused creative campaign 'Draw The Line Against Malaria'. To help ensure that the campaign’s goal to empower youth to unite to end malaria is heard around the world, Rentokil Initial joined a host of partners and used its global footprint, large employee base, financial support, and digital platforms to raise awareness of the campaign. In Africa, activities included re-branding several of its vehicles with the Draw The Line artwork, designed by Nigerian artist and activist Láolú Senbanjo, to feature the unique visual identity of the campaign.
