The Global Fund needs our next Prime Minister's support
The UK’s next Prime Minster has the chance to lead the world and to make sure we end malaria in a generation.
World leaders are due to meet in New York this September to replenish The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, an institution that has helped save 44 million lives by confronting some of the world's deadliest diseases.
Britain has supported the Global Fund and the malaria fight through its determined leadership and pioneering science. This includes the development of the world’s first WHO-approved malaria vaccine, as well as next-generation bed nets — all with incredible potential to accelerate the fight to end malaria.
With world-beating British science, we have the power to take on some of the biggest global challenges. These actions will not only save lives but unlock economic potential both here and abroad, making the world safer against future pandemics.
With new tools ready to beat malaria, now is not the time for the UK to step away. In their first few days in office, we need the UK’s next leader to make a bold commitment to the Global Fund. Our country has the chance to be back at its best, leading the way and helping the malaria fight get back on track.
The next Prime Minister can show what Britain can achieve, by stepping up we can fight for what counts and help save a further 20 million lives. Together we can make sure Britain continues to play a leading role in the malaria fight and champion the values that make us proud.
