Brentford FC
A huge thank you to Brentford FC and all their fans who got behind their defender Moses Odubajo and made Malaria No More UK the charity of the match in their game against Bristol City.
It may not have been a win for Brentford but it was 1-0 to the bees against the mosquitoes. Armed with buckets and t-shirts we raised over £600 at the game.
Moses lost his mum to malaria when he was only 13. She was a health worker and travelled to work in Ghana, where the entire population is at risk of malaria. Upon her return, she started feeling very weak, she was diagnosed with malaria, and she tragically died from the disease. Moses' life was turned upside-down but eventually, he channeled his grief into motivation to become a better footballer and person. Since then, he has invested his time into raising awareness about malaria and has joined Malaria No More UK as a Special Ambassador.
At Malaria No More UK, we know that this heart-breaking story is devastatingly common. There is a way to end malaria for good. We work to influence leaders to take action. Our aim is to turn your £3 into £3 million to fund all the research and treatments that go into fighting the disease. Join us and be part of the generation that ends malaria for good.
