Andy from Bedfordshire's Story
I caught malaria whilst taking part in a charity bike ride across Africa and it wasn’t until 4 months after I got back that it actually kicked in. I woke up one morning feeling a little under the weather and thought that I may be suffering from Flu. For the next few days I had very little energy and was suffering from a very high fever every 48 hours or so.
Malaria is an entirely preventable disease
A number of African countries have already proved that dramatic successes can be realised. Ethiopia, Rwanda and Eritrea have reduced malaria deaths by over 50% in just a few years by using bed nets and medicines.
