Jazz FM

Jazz FM and Malaria No More UK are proud to be partners in the fight against malaria

We are delighted to be supported by Jazz FM, the UK’s definitive digital station for all things jazz, soul, funk and blues. Jazz FM is using its unique style and sound to raise funds and awareness to help bring an end to deaths from malaria.

To mark World Malaria Day on 25th April 2011, Jazz FM infused its output with African jazz, soul funk and blues and supported on air by the presenters throughout the day including special guest interviews on ‘Jazz In The City’ on Monday 18th April and Monday 25th April:

Key moments in our partnership to make malaria no more:

  • The partnership launched on 17th March 2010 with an interview with Ray Chambers, the UN Special Envoy for Malaria. Ray was a guest on Wilson’s World, talking about the role of business in making malaria no more.
  • April 2010 saw a daredevil team of Jazz FM presenters take to the skies in the Malaria No More UK Celebrity led Skydive. They jumped from 12,000 feet and gave us some fantastic support to an event which raised over £25K for Africa. Watch the Jazz FM team on the day of the dive.
  • World Malaria Day 2010 saw Jazz FM’s first dedicated day of programming in support of Malaria No More UK and included Gerry Lyseight’s Planet Mambo – Focus on Africa broadcast late into the night on 24 April. This was followed by fun and funky interviews with Malaria No More UK supporters, jazz pianist, Joe Stilgoe and British luxury jeweller, Stephen Webster on World Malaria Day.

Tune in to Jazz FM for the very best in electric sounds from jazz, soul, funk and blues.
