Between Monday 5 – Friday 9 December online donations to Malaria No More UK, that are made through The Big Give Christmas Challenge will be matched pound for pound by The Big Give and mosquito net manufacturer Vestergaard Frandsen.

Today is the last day of the Big Give Christmas Challenge and there are still a limited amount of matching funds available for those able to give at 10am. These are likely to go quickly!

On Day 4 of The Big Give Christmas Challenge, one of our supporters is keen to share why she wanted to donate this week.

Following yesterday’s “Big Giving” we had raised over £19,500 – a huge thank you to everyone who has helped achieve this. Matching funds are still available from 10am this morning but are running out quickly each day. On Day 3 of The Big Give Christmas Challenge, Annemarie Meyer, Malaria No More UK Programme and Policy Manager, shares news on how donations made online this week will be helping continue our work protecting the population of Ghana from malaria.

Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated through the Big Give Christmas Challenge, and to those of you who plan to give online at 10am today. So far we’ve raised over £18,000!

The money that you and other supporters are donating during this week’s Challenge, is going to help vital work that I saw firsthand on a recent visit to our partners in Ghana, West Africa.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge re-launching at 10am Tuesday 6 December

Thank you so much to everyone who tried to double your gift this morning through the Big Give Christmas Challenge. Unfortunately so many generous people tried to donate online; the Big Give’s website experienced unexpected problems and had to be temporarily taken down.

The good news is that The Big Give site re-launches tomorrow, Tuesday 6 December at 10am!

Leicester youth come together to make malaria no more

On 28 September, Charlotte and Usman, Faiths Act Fellows at Malaria No More UK, visited the St. Philip’s Centre, home of the Leicester Interfaith Youth Hub. The Hub was set up to bring together young people from across Leicester from different faith backgrounds and create a space in which they could work together to improve their local community and support causes with a global impact. It is as part of this second goal that they have been fundraising for Malaria No More UK since 2009.

A big cheer goes out to Jazz FM presenter Nigel Williams and his producer Damian Bamber who are stepping up their pace as they train for their half marathon in support of Malaria No More UK!

Nigel and Damian will be racing to raise funds to help save lives in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9 October. This 13.1 mile run crosses the heart of London and takes in four of the city’s most stunning parks – Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Green Park and St James’s Park.
