Movies for Malaria
If you love film and want to help make malaria no more this could be the fundraiser for you!
We’re very excited to be partnering with Future Shorts Festival for their autumn/winter season. Together we’re showcasing the very best of international short film and creating a brand new opportunity for you to help end malaria deaths, a disease that kills a child every minute.
The concept is simple: during the months of October, November and December you can get involved by hosting your own fundraising film screening, showcasing a selection of the latest leading international short films which Future Shorts have cleared with the filmmakers for our use.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring friends, family and the local community together to be part of a growing global network. Not only that, it provides a fun and creative way to raise funds for malaria, a disease that is preventable and treatable.
Anyone, anywhere can set up a screening and it can be as big or small as you like. You could open it up to the local community or invite friends over for a “movie” night at home. It’s your event, so you decide how you want it to work.
To help raise awareness of malaria, the short film programme will also include one of our own Beat The Mozzy animations starring malicious mozzy Ziii being foiled in her quest to spread malaria far and wide.
What support will I receive?
- A comprehensive screening pack from Future Shorts which details everything you need to organise and promote your event
- A bespoke fundraising pack full of advice and ideas to ensure your screening is both enjoyable and even more unmissable.
- Future Shorts will also help with the promotion of your event
- Fundraising staff at Malaria No More UK will be on hand to offer advice and guidance every step of the way.
Please note that there is a small licence fee to pay for the DVD and Future Shorts provide all the information about this on their website.

Movie night of your choice….
Hosting a Future Shorts screening is one way to get involved, but it’s not the only way! You may want to choose the film you show and host a smaller event in the comfort of your own home. If this is the case we would love to hear from you and support your fundraising efforts.
We have put together a really helpful “how to guide” which details how you go about organising your own movie night and ideas to bring in the money and make it that extra bit special.
