Lukwesa Burak

Sky News Anchor Lukwesa Burak hosted ‘Night Under Nets’ to mark World Malaria Day 2010. The interfaith event raised funds and awareness for Malaria No More UK and during the night Lukwesa talked about her own experiences of malaria. She grew up in Zambia and as a young girl, contracted malaria leaving her hospitalised for four weeks.

Lukwesa has continued to support Malaria No More UK and starred in a cameo role as a News Reader in The Hunting Moon – an innovative social media campaign themed around bloodsuckers. Most recently, Lukwesa voiced over and features in the new film Introducing Malaria No More UK.
